Real C:SS Chocolates!

Hi Chocolatiers!

One of the perks of working on a game based entirely on the making, selling, and consuming of chocolate is all that, in the course of regular business, we are sometimes compelled to consume the object of our own creation.

People have called it "snacking" but we prefer the term "market research".

Last week, a few of us were up in Seattle (the Space Needle is suitably magnificent and Rainier Tower defies explanation) for Casual Connect. For the occasion, we whipped up a custom-made surprise to hand out during the event.

We brought them chocolates! Chocolates with our name on them! Delicious and, we think, utterly appropriate.

As their site says, Casual Connect is:

Casual Games Association Events are the premiere events for the casual games industry with over 3,000 professionals attending Casual Connect Events each year. Casual Connect Seattle brings together the most talented and knowledgeable experts in the casual gaming field to further the casual games industry with the best of networking and learning.

That means that far too few (if any) of our players got their hands on these little delights but we wanted to share them with you as best we could.

Check 'em out!

C:SS Chocolate

One treat to rule them all...

What's better than a piece of chocolate? Many pieces!

Taken from GJ's secret stash...

In retrospect, we should have used those giant Willy Wonka type chocolate bars for this but then again, the left-overs might have been a bit too much to handle.

As it stands, we now have the oh-so-very-difficult task of finishing off the rest! (Except the ones with Peanuts in them. Bleh.)

  1. Mehhh just labels on chocolates that aren’t even in the game. I thought you’d make one of those Chocolate Bars with Raspberry.

    • Sadly, if we did that, there’d probably be no pictures to take. Chocolate Bar with Raspberry are just a bit too delicious.

  2. You really should send them to people that have been Playfirst.com members for years, like myself!!! I believe I purchased my first game from Playfirst (Diner Dash) in 2004 and have bought almost 40 games since.

    • Wow! Well, thanks for sticking around. If (probably when) we do a real chocolate promotion, remind me to send you some!

  3. You could sell them at gas stations like seven eleven n people could get one free credit

  4. Very cute and clever promo idea…. will to share?

    • We’d love to share. Probably not from this batch though, they’re a couple weeks old at this point. ;p

  5. i wnat some :)

  6. What do we do to get some..I will eat any of them even the peanut

  7. I wannnt! It looks awesome!

  8. Where can I get some? Send them to your Facebook fans… Hey, Kraft sent me a free Mac n’ Cheese coupon! :-)

  9. That cool!

I started playing so that I could write a future review about this game on my blog, listed as my website if you’d like to check us out at The Chocolate Cult.

    • Nice! I’ll definitely keep an eye on that site. When you write your Chocolatier review, let me know and I’ll include a link in our C:SS Chatter section.

  10. I’ll take the peanut ones!!! Yum………….

  11. That’s so sweet. I love it !

  12. That’s why I sell Dove chocolate at home parties, it’s real chocolate, no vegetable oil!!!

  13. What flavors were they? Also, did you make them yourselves? Or did you just cover Hershey’s minatures with your label? Warning – some chocolate is no longer real chocolate. If they use vegetable shortening or other fats in the chocolate instead of using cocoa butter, then they’re not allowed to label it as chocolate. It has to be labeled as ‘chocolate-flavored’. Yuch!

    • Peanut and Regular. I’m not sure if “Peanut” actually counts as a flavor though. It’s more of a speed-bump on the road to delicious (at least as far as I’m concerned).

These, as far as I know were real chocolates, branded by Hershey’s for the event.

      Chocolate-flavored? Yeesh.

      • I believe their Krackel and Mr. Goodbar are now being made with vegetable oil. So, the peanut ones may have been that – since Mr. Goodbar is usually the Hershey bar with peanuts – you’d have to read the label. They also use the words ‘chocolate candy’ or ‘made with chocolate’ instead of just ‘chocolate’. Got to read your labels!

  14. They are so cute!!!! Hope they taste as good as they look.

  15. Would love to sample some.

  16. I am thrilled with Sweet Chocolatier! I love to make real candy, so this game fills in the gap when I don’t feel like getting my real kitchen dirty! I just wish I could really taste my game’s chocolates! :) Thanks for the Fun!

  17. they look so cute!!!

  19. Love this!!! I Love this game also!!
